Fresh Organic Poller

Fresh, organic pollen is nature’s nutritional miracle. Our bees constantly collect this superfood of flowers from all over Arcadia and specifically from the Skiritida forest.

Our pollen is fresh, moist and organic, which means it retains far more nutrients than dried pollen. It contains almost all the nutrients our bodies need to thrive and is richer in protein and amino acids per gram than any other animal product (even eggs or beef). However, the power of pollen to boost health goes beyond nutrition, as it reduces stress and promotes emotional well-being.

Organic Fresh Pollen Collection

We collect pollen using special traps known as “pollen traps”. The bee entering the hive cannot fit through with its load, resulting in the pollen falling into the pollen trap and remaining there until it is collected.

Pollen is a product produced by bees from the male reproductive cells of flowers. Its composition is not constant as it can come from hundreds of different flowers. Bees fly from flower to flower collecting the pollen to which they add nectar and other secretions.

Returning to the apiary, the pollen is normally stored in the honeycomb where it is covered with a thin layer of honey and wax, thus creating the so-called “bee bread”. Bee bread, after anaerobic fermentation, is the main source of protein for bees. People collect the pollen from special pollen traps. Any foreign bodies are then removed, it is frozen or dried and stored in the refrigerator.

The taste and appearance of pollen varies depending on the flowers from which it comes. Thus, its color can range from light yellow to dark brown-black.
